Namba and beyond: building the rest of your Osaka evening
Plans run from about 1.5 to 4 hours at Rinku Town. Here is how a visit fits with Dotonbori, Kuromon Market and the rest of an Osaka stay.

An evening that leaves room either side
The main show runs under an hour, and plans last from about 1.5 to 4 hours depending on the option, so this booking can take a large part of an evening. Add the train ride out to Rinku Town and back before planning anything else the same day.
Dotonbori is a train ride away
Dotonbori, Osaka's canal-side entertainment district, is in the Namba area, not next to the venue, which is at Rinku Town beside Kansai Airport. Plan it for another evening, or for the daytime before you head out, and allow for the trip back to the city after the show.
Shinsekai, for a different side of the neighbourhood
A short ride from Namba, Shinsekai and the Tsutenkaku Tower offer a retro, downtown-Osaka atmosphere that's a deliberate contrast to Dotonbori's newer neon — kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) is the local specialty here, if chanko-nabe wasn't enough hot food for one night.
Kuromon Ichiba, in daylight
If your trip includes a full day in Osaka, Kuromon Ichiba Market, Osaka's well-known food market, is a daytime stop in the Namba area. It sits on the city side of the trip, so do it before you take the train out to Rinku Town for the show.
If your trip lands in March
Travellers whose dates happen to fall within the Haru Basho — Osaka's own Grand Sumo Tournament, 15 days at EDION Arena in Namba each March — have the option of both: this evening show on one night, and an afternoon at a ranked tournament on another, without needing to choose between them.
Building a two-night plan
A workable shape for a short Osaka stay: one evening for the sumo show at Rinku Town, with the trip out and back planned around the start time, and a separate evening for Dotonbori. Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku Tower make a slower contrast for a second evening in the city.
Staying near Umeda or Namba
Whether you stay near Umeda and Osaka Station or near Namba, the venue is a train ride out: Nankai from Namba, or JR from Osaka Station, to Rinku Town Station. See the getting-there guide for routes, and check your last train home before choosing an evening show.
One note on timing your booking

Rinku Town is one stop from Kansai Airport and the venue offers large luggage storage, so it suits the day you arrive in or leave Osaka by air.

If a full two-night Namba plan is more than your schedule allows, the show and chanko-nabe dinner alone still make a complete evening on its own — no add-on required. Everything else on this list is there to fill the hours either side of it, not to complicate a booking that already stands up by itself.
